There will always be something to do in this bustling suburb. In addition to the wonderful parks, arts districts, and shopping centers, the city has several special events scheduled throughout the year. The city also puts on an annual German Christmas market, or Christkindlmarkt, a local favorite that features an ice skating rink and plenty of booths to find the best German or German-inspired gifts. Visitors and locals love the Carmel City Center for its shopping and dining options. The center boasts everything from great retail stores to ice cream and even some fun events, like Spring Sip & Shop.
The Carmel Arts and Design District is also a local favorite. Located in Old Town Carmel, there are art galleries to visit, shops, restaurants, and the World’s Smallest Children’s Art Gallery, featured in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1999. Carmel also boasts the 15.7-mile Monon Greenway that runs into downtown Indianapolis. You’ll also love Coxhall Gardens, a gorgeous and eclectic outdoor space. Boasting a Children’s Garden and twin 90-feet bell towers, Coxhall Gardens is a popular wedding venue that is also family-friendly.
